Laserit have established a niche market in the area of more challenging jobs, we are always willing to discuss and take on jobs that call for some engineering dexterity and know how.

Below is just one example of a project that required extensive consultation and development with the customer to ensure the accuracy, quality and functionality required.

London 2012 Paralympic team Swimming Lane Starting Blocks.

Comprising 10 laser cut and folded parts out of 2 mm 316 stainless steel. Each part is engineered to exacting standards to minimize compound error during assembly.

Two key requirements of the customer were that the finished product should suit flat pack shipping for non welding, on site assembly and that the price per unit should be reduced by half.

Using the latest CadCam software the starting block component parts were developed in close cooperation with the customer to guarantee the profile and fold accuracy in order that compound error is reduced to an absolute minimum.

The timing touch sensitive pads are submerged in Chlorinated pool water so a scratch free finish is essential for onward electropolishing.
Each batch of starter blocks becomes unique by personalizing with the end users logo and name.

After cutting the kit parts are folded on an Amada 8 axis 3 meter 170 tonne CNC press brake with one starting block in every batch pre - assembled for quality assurance.
